Mother to Boys.

♥A Letter

Dear Boy,

As of today you are nineteen months old. Its very hard for me to accept the fact that you are getting older, and it leaves me in complete aw when i try to think of where the past year and a half went. I cant say that i regret anything, but if i had the chance to do things over i would surely pay more attention to the details. I had no idea the day you were born that my life would be put in fast forward from that point on, sometimes i wish i could hit the pause button and take the moment in, to just stop and realise that tomorrow you will be a day older and it will be a day further from the first time i set my eyes on you. You were so small and so new to me, all i could think about was my future with you. Little did i know the future was tomorrow. I just wanted to let you know I'm trying to be the best mommy for you and i can only hope you think i am doing a good job. . I love you sooooo incredibly much.

Love,
Your Mommy

P.S.- Stop growing so fast!
P.S.S.- You are sooo goofy!

♥Merry Christmas Three Days Ago
posted on Friday, December 28, 2007.

Merry Christmas to everyone, even if it is three days late. i havent posted because i have been extra busy with my family Christmas shopping and stressing and now cleaning up toys every time i turn around.. literally... every time i turn around.

We had a great Christmas and it was super awesome seeing The Boy so excited that Santa came. I think he is going to apply to become a Professional Christmas Present Opener for next Christmas, as is he is really good at it. We got tons of nice things. I ,for one, got a new camera from The Daddy and The Boy picked me out a new vacuum and considering we needed a new one desperately i was beyond happy to receive it.

here are some pictures of the past few days... enjoy.

♥Lights

We drove to go see the Suwannee Christmas Lights, its a 2 mile trail through the woods, and you drive through with your head lights off and they have over 5 million Christmas lights set up and on display. They have everything from dinosaurs to frogs jumping in ponds. it was way cool. The Boy loved it, or maybe he loved the fact that Grandpa (my dad) let him drive the van... either way the lights were awesome. Some of my favorites:

Camels

snails, birds and flowers

Dragonflies and butterflies

Swan

Santa driving a tractor
Santa's shop

The Boy with an M&M smeared face, about to indulge in some pure sugar marshmallows and his coolest Grandpa ever.

The Boy eating a cookie and his coolest Great Grandpa ever!

♥First Day of School
posted on Thursday, December 6, 2007.

The Boy started his first day of school last Monday. Tomorrow will be his second. I am so very excited i can hardly stand it. He's only going two days a week while i am at work making that money. I think it will be good for him and i am figuring that he will instantly become a genius.

I went to a day care when i was younger... i was probably in about 5Th grade or so. My parents worked and i was the oldest of the three of us and we couldn't stay home alone yet so we went to day care. The school The Boy goes to is actually... wait for it... a school, not some place they just watch children until the appropriate adult comes to take them home. This is no day care where they allow children to watch Terminator 2 and Robo Cop (not that it matter much to my parents as was those were, at the time, two of my most favorite movies. Yeah i remember how they fast forwarded through all the best parts of the movie, and i remember how some parents when they found out were totally pissed that they fast forwarded through the best parts).

When i became pregnant i vowed never to send my child to a day care. Where the boy goes they have no TVs in the rooms just children's music playing on a CD stereo, and everything they do all day long is based on learning something. No time outs or other punishments that should only be inforced by parents. They use redirection methods. They allow the children to take naps on mats ... yes... 18 month olds all sleep on mats on the floor with blankets and with no problems at all. I was as surprised as you, i didn't think The Boy would do it, i was sure he would give his teacher a run for her money, but he did it, he slept on a mat ... for the whole nap time. They also feed them good food, not shitty cheap food but real food, food i would eat without a grim face. They allow them to sit at a mini table with real chairs (mini chairs of course) no high chairs. They have toys, not broke toys but toys that actually work and have batteries.

Any way, we took him in on Monday. The Daddy woke up extra early so he could go with us. We took him to his class room and showed him around, he started playing with the toys and we slipped out with out him noticing, i watched him through the window for a few minutes and I almost wanted to cry. He's not baby anymore, he is a boy now, and now he is going to make tons of friends at school, and i am super excited for him.

♥Almost There
posted on Wednesday, December 5, 2007.

I am almost done with my Christmas shopping. Be jealous, be very jealous. I only have a few more things I'd like to pick up for The Boy, one of them being a booster seat for our dining table and then some art supplies to go with the wooden Easel we bought him. Other than that i just have to pick up my gift for The Daddy, and i already know what i am going to get him, so its just a matter of going to pick it up from the store.

I am dying to give The Boy all of his presents, and if it wasn't for The Daddy I probably would have given most of them to him already. I'm just not good at holding presents until the appropriate time, i want to give them right away.

The long list of gifts waiting in the computer room to be wrapped and then placed under our Christmas tree for The Boy.

so yeah, I'm pretty much done for. I just need to get some stocking suffers, which will most likely be bath toys and supplies.
