♥Anyone Can Cook
posted on Friday, November 23, 2007.

We bought the Movie Ratatouille. All i can say about it is "BEST Movie, Ever!". I loved it. it was completely entertaining, and I actually forgot i was watching a cartoon for the most part. It's a humorous but cute movie. It starts out with a rat named Remy who isnt happy with the way his life is, he wants to cook. Eventually he finds himself at one of the most famous restaurants in Paris, where he meets a dopey kid named Linguini , they become friends and Remy's dream of becoming a chef comes true. Here's the trailer for the movie. This would make a wonderful gift for any adult or child for the holidays.. We have watched it twice so far.

♥Sesame Street Tree

We put up our Christmas Tree tonight. Pre- Baby we wouldn't put it up until two weeks before Christmas, but this year I figured The Boy would like it and we decided to put it up for all of December while following normal traditions and setting it up the weekend after Thanksgiving. We are going to be pretty busy this weekend so we went ahead and set it up this evening. The Boy and i had went to Target this afternoon to pick out our ornaments, settling on some Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster and Ernie decorations along with a few red balls to top things off.

The Daddy had a time putting up the ornaments, every time he put one on The Boy took one off. Daddy Puts one on Boy takes one off, Daddy puts one on Boy takes on off... you see what i mean. We finally had to move all the decorations to the top half of the tree, at least for a few days until The Boy leaves it alone.

♥I Couldn't Choose, So I Bought Them All
posted on Saturday, November 17, 2007.

The Boy loves books, and I love collecting them for him, so yesterday when i went to the stores do some Christmas shopping, naturally i checked out the books to see what was happening. I scanned the shelves in search for books that can catch my eye, because yes... i do judge books by the cover, I cant help it and its not something i am proud of. I picked a few books up and flipped through the pages. When i left the store my total cost in books added up to about sixty Dollars. Oh yeah, did i mention that these books aren't even board books, which means The Boy wont even be able to play with them without The Mommy's supervision. I couldn't help it, i wanted them....i mean for The Boy of course! These are the four books i settled on.

1.Someday by Alison McGhee & Peter H. Reynolds- Its a sweet book about a Mother who watches her child grow from and infant to an elder. Its a very touching book any mother can relate to the love and warmth this book offers.

2. the one, the only Magnificent Me words by Dan Haseltine & pictures by Joel Schoon Tanis- I will admit the pictures and colors in this book is mostly the reason i bought it. The story is cute, its about a boy who imagines himself into a creature, only to find out in the end that its much better to just be himself.

3. SkippyJon Jones and the Big Bones by Judy Schachner- This book is crazy and i totally bought it for the story, and the illustrations are just as great. It made me laugh a few times. I love it.

4. Walter the Farting Dog by William Kotzwinkle & Glenn Murry- The title of this book explains all. A rescues dog that has a farting problem who in the end becomes a hero. the pictures are great, and the story is way cute.

♥First Dentist Appointment & A Yellow Balloon
posted on Thursday, November 15, 2007.

the yellow balloon

I have been working so hard at work lately. Besides the guilt of not spending as much time with The Boy, I also haven't had very much time to post. Work gets crazy insane around Thanksgiving every year. Usually I only work two days a week and the rest of the days I am a full time mommy. This week i had to work everyday to help with the overload of customers. Next week things will be back to normal, for a while anyway, and then it will get crazy again when Christmas gets closer.

Today i had the day off because we had an important day scheduled. Today was The Boys first dental appointment. I made the appointment about a month ago, and i had been telling The Boy all along that he was going to go to the dentist to get his teeth brushed. I figured this was the best way to prepare him for strangers fingers being all up in his grill. Since he loves to have his teeth brushed i was hoping he would be okay with it and all, and he was. A perfect angel. Mommy was very proud. Very proud.

Okay, first off, this Dentist he now goes to is like one of the best, and is completely tricked out. They have TVs in all the ceilings with cartoons on. While you get your teeth worked on and glammed up you get to watch your own personal TV, how awesome is that! They have toys everywhere, and the nurses are all so nice, and not that fake nice were you wanna punch them in the face... but the real deal. A major plus- Its clean. I'm sooo in love, fo sho, and The Boy will surly be a patient.Me too please, I'd like to be a patient also and "Id like to watch HG TV while i get my teeth cleaned".

For real. When we got there it took The Boy about one hundred years to walk up to the doors, and when we finally got in the office he noticed the toy area immediately, and as soon as he did i went to grab his hand to tell him no. No way. No child of mine is playing with all those nasty germ infested toys that are never ever clean. As i grabbed his hand i glanced at the toy area out of the corner of my eye... and holy shit, the toys where actually clean -the whole area was, no stained up carpets, but clean white tile floors, with clean nice new non-broke toys.... I let go of The Boys hand and said "go for it" and he ran in the blocked off area and played until his name was called.

When we go in the back the nurse gives us a brief tour and tells me how proud she is that we are bringing him at the suggested age and how most parents tend wait to long, blah blah blah. I think to myself 'those must be the same parents that never read parenting books or own a computer with the Internet'((these are the parents i label Wingers, because they just wing it, they never read books or research anything about parenting, they just do things as they go along)). I thank the nurse for the tour as she shows us our room. She briefs me a little more on what she is going to do with The Boy and asks me a few questions before asking The Boy if he wants to sit in the red chair. She continues to talk to The Boy, and then to me about how he might act, she tells me "its up to him what he allows us to do today"-&-" most babies only let us 'look' at their teeth on the first visit, and don't expect too much from him this first time".

The Boy lays down and she asks him if she can see all his teeth, then i lean in and tell him "she's going to brush your teeth, let her see them so that she can brush them, like at home do you want them brushed?". He opened his mouth to let her brush his teeth with no further pleading on our side. He did start to cry though after little bit, but just a tiny bit, but it wasn't from the being scared, but because just a month ago he stared going through this shy stage. I just patted him on the leg and told him "its okay silly, your getting your teeth brushed, that's it that's all she is going to do" and pointed at the TV on the ceiling (which was playing Angry Beavers) and said "hey look at that, the TV is in the ceiling. Whoa how cool is that? Its neat huh?" and then that was the end of that. The Dentist came in and talked me and then applied some fluoride to The Boys teeth with no fights or any fusses on his part.

the red chair, and The Boy with his blankie

Thats it our appointment was over. The Boy got a big yellow balloon and I got many praises on how excellent he behaved and how shocked they were that he allowed them to do a full appointment on his very first visit. Thank you, Than you ::cue for my applause now::. When we were walking out to the car i told The Boy how proud I was of him. And I am. Very very proud.

♥My Sick Secret
posted on Tuesday, November 6, 2007.

OK, my sick secret... here it is. Listen closely. I like the Upside Down Show. There, you heard it. I said it. I like The Upside Down Show. I have it set to reminder on my TV, and it has a pop up that tells me when its about to start, and i change the TV to that channel and i watch the whole episode... which is all reruns now. Sad but true, i have watched the show so much that i am now watching reruns, and yet i still watch it. Its so funny. well, not as much funny as it is down right entertaining and amusing and i will admit i have laughed aloud once or twice while watching it.

Go check it out, you can catch some clips of it here. Go on now, its worth it. I promise, and if you don't like it, well then you're lying, because its a good show. Oh yeah- make sure you set up your reminders and we can watch it together. Ha.

♥Growing Like Bean Stalk
posted on Sunday, November 4, 2007.

Everyone loves new shoes, even The Boy.

The Boy graduated from a size 5 1/2 in shoes to a size 6 today. I have this love hate relationship when it comes to buying shoes for him. Its really hard to find cute shoes for a toddler that don't have that idiot Diego or some Dora the Explorer shit all over them. Hes not old enough to care what shoes he wears, so really, what parent wants to stare at Diego on a pair of shoes everyday? Sorry Diego, you just don't match any of my kids clothes, I'm going to have to pass on you.

So that's the hate part- not finding any shoes i actually want to buy The Boy and/or them not being offered in his size.

The love part is when i actually stumble upon a pair of shoes that are cute, affordable... and his size. Like the shoes i found today. Love! Hopefully he will wear them a little longer than his last pair of shoes which only lasted about three months before he out grew them.

♥Wooooo Friggin Hoo

Happy Happy Happy! After many many times of trying to create my own header, I finally figured out how to do it The Daddy showed me how to do it. I like it. It may not seem like much, but its the first one i have ever made, and i am pretty dang proud of it. I even made a little button link that matches to put on my myspace. I'm pretty excited, but enough on that.

Today was a pretty slow day, with bringing of Fall comes gloomy weather, which makes for slow days. Hopefully things will pick back up.

The Boy and his shadow

The Boy's teething again, his canine teeth are coming in, so he was pretty bitchy today. He whined the whole time we were grocery shopping and i wanted to choke him, so when we got home we put him down for a nap. It seemed like such a great idea that The Daddy and i took a nap too. The Daddy must be itching for something because not only did he be sooo sweet and clean my computer for me today(which consists of deleting all the crap that takes up all my memory, which in return my computer runs a little faster, YaY!) and showed my how to do my header for my blog, but he woke up before The Mommy and started cooking dinner, which really surprised me and made me very happy. I love that man.

♥The Day I Found Out I Was A Mommy
posted on Thursday, November 1, 2007.

Crazy Hip Blog Mama's asked us to write about a time during our pregnancy, so i thought what better than to write about the day i found out that i was pregnant.

It took us about a month of crazy hot sex to become pregnant with our son who is now 17 months old, but i remember the day the pregnancy test read positive as if it happened yesterday. Here's how it happened...

I'm one of those women who are very impatient, so when we decided it was time to start making a baby i figured it would take about six months, or at least that's what i had researched... 'six months' i thought, 'why cant it just happen now?'. Still I set myself up with the mind site that i so wouldn't get pregnant for another six months, little did i know it was alot sooner than i thought.

A month and a half later i woke in the morning and decided to take a pregnancy test, 'why not' i thought 'it cant hurt... after all i know I'm not pregnant, i cant possibly be, its just not that easy'. I climbed out of bed did my thing with the test and came back to lay down and almost fell asleep before i remembered to go check the test. When i picked the stick up and there were two pink lines instead of one i blink a few times and grabbed the box from the trash can and held the directions next to the stick... 'holy shit! no way. yes! i am so pregnant' i went immediately to tell The Daddy who was getting ready for work, we hugged and i told him 'now lets not get to excited, in fact... act like it didn't even happen, you know this test might be wrong, and i don't want to set myself up for failure' we agreed .I went to research on the Internet on how often pregnancy tests say positive when in all reality you really arnt pregnant... my research told me that it pretty much never happens and it is more likely to say negative when you are pregnant than positive when you arnt.

through out the next month i took about 5 more tests... just to see it say positive again and again and each time i got more excited , finally The Daddy said 'enough is enough, you arnt buying any more tests, you really are pregnant!' ...

I still have all 6 pregnancy tests in a keep sake box, and every time i rummage through the box and catch a glimpse of them i feel the same excitement i felt that very day when i first found out i was going to be a Mommy.

♥A Conversation

this conversation took place last night in bed while The Daddy was trying to go to sleep and The Mommy was talking, obviously to herself....

The Mommy- You know, every where we go people gush over The boy and say how cute he is.

The Daddy- Uh huh

The Mommy- Is he really that cute? I mean, really? I know we think he's cute. But we dont count... all parents think their child is cute, even mothers of serial killers think there child is sweet and cute. I think its embedded in us to think the best of our offspring. you know?

The Daddy- Uh huh

The Mommy- Well i guess if everyone is saying he's cute, then he must be cute.

The Daddy- Uh huh

{{ The Daddy rolls over and The Mommy takes the cue that its time to go to sleep now}}
