♥First Day of School

![]() The Boy started his first day of school last Monday. Tomorrow will be his second. I am so very excited i can hardly stand it. He's only going two days a week while i am at work making that money. I think it will be good for him and i am figuring that he will instantly become a genius. I went to a day care when i was younger... i was probably in about 5Th grade or so. My parents worked and i was the oldest of the three of us and we couldn't stay home alone yet so we went to day care. The school The Boy goes to is actually... wait for it... a school, not some place they just watch children until the appropriate adult comes to take them home. This is no day care where they allow children to watch Terminator 2 and Robo Cop (not that it matter much to my parents as was those were, at the time, two of my most favorite movies. Yeah i remember how they fast forwarded through all the best parts of the movie, and i remember how some parents when they found out were totally pissed When i became pregnant i vowed never to send my child to a day care. Where the boy goes they have no TVs in the rooms just children's music playing on a CD stereo, and everything they do all day long is based on learning something. No time outs or other punishments that should only be inforced by parents. They use redirection methods. They allow the children to take naps on mats ... yes... 18 month olds all sleep on mats on the floor with blankets and with no problems at all. I was as surprised as you, i didn't think The Boy would do it, i was sure he would give his teacher a run for her money, but he did it, he slept on a mat ... for the whole nap time. They also feed them good food, not shitty cheap food but real food, food i would eat without a grim face. They allow them to sit at a mini table with real chairs (mini chairs of course) no high chairs. They have toys, not broke toys but toys that actually work and have batteries. Any way, we took him in on Monday. The Daddy woke up extra early so he could go with us. We took him to his class room and showed him around, he started playing with the toys and we slipped out with out him noticing, i watched him through the window for a few minutes and I almost wanted to cry. He's not baby anymore, he is a boy now, and now he is going to make tons of friends at school, and i am super excited for him.
